Announced in January 2009, the game was developed by the Turkish company TaleWorlds Entertainment and was published by Paradox Interactive on March 30, 2010.

The Parabellum is a mod for Mount & Blade: Warband, created by master_copypaster.A mod called 'Crusader Blade' is being built that seems to offer the best of both worlds: generate intrigue, policy, and diplomacy from Crusader Kings 3, while sending players into Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord for battles.
